What’s new!

Here are a couple of things I have been working on. 

This is a new snowman, the original pattern is by http://www.country-whims.com .  There is a little tag in the front pocket that reads ” Things may be tough but you will see..things will get better if you ”Believe”

This is a raggy quilt that I just finished.  I bought the pattern at the Country Craft Cupboard in Berlin Ohio.  The pattern is by Backyard Friends.  http://www.countrycraftcupboard.com This is my first quilt and it is very ”forgiving” as far as the sewing.  It doesn’t have to be absolutely perfect because of the ”raggy edges”. 

I am  working on some placemats using the same ”raggy” quilt pattern.  I am also working on some new ornaments that I will be posting soon.  I would like to start selling my own patterns soon.  They would include fabric and wood patterns that I have been working on.  It seems that a lot of people are selling e-patterns for instant download.  I know that when I see a pattern I love, I want to start working on it right away, and I hate waiting for it to come in the mail!

New Items posted

Craft Show 2009

 Hello,   I finished my last show of the season.  It was amazing!  Thank you to everyone that stopped by the booth!  It was great to see our repeat customers and meet some new customers.   The sales were up and we had tons of people that came through our booth.  It was alot of fun, my mom/dad and I finally got to catch up.  Although that wasn’t until we sold out of almost everything!  I am working on making some more of my new items so I can post them on my website.  I was so busy packing things for the show, I forgot to take pictures of them!

Show Time!

I haven’t had time to post lately because I’m in the final stretch for the shows!  I thought I had a good start and now the more I look around my craft room, I am seeing things I still need to finish up.  My first show is the weekend of September 19/20.  It’s at the Covered Bridge Festival in Mingo Park here in Washington, PA.  If you would like directions or more information check out their website at  http://washwow.com   and click on the Covered Bridge Festival.  We are located at the Ebenezer Bridge, in front of the food pavillion by the creek.

Our other show is the Pennsylvania Arts & Crafts festival at the Washington Fairgrounds in Washington, PA.  It is 2 weekends!  October 16,17,18 and 24 and 25.  For more information and directions their website is http://familyfestivals.com and click on the Christmas festival.   Our booth is in the Dasher building.  Here is a picture from the show last year.     

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Both shows have a huge turn out and have plenty of great crafts and delicious foods to try!  I do these shows with my mom and dad and we have a great time laughing and catching up.

Are you ready for some football?!

It’s  finally football season again!  If you live in Western PA,  you know that the Steelers are in training camp and the season will kick off in just a few weeks.   I added the Steeler’s schedule below for you to print.

I have also added a ”new” product to my website.  It’s not really new to those of you that visit me at the craft shows.  This is my best seller by far!  Everyone loves these jars.  They make great gifts and everyone just gets the biggest laugh out of them.   They are Steeler Curse Jars.   On one side they say ” Everytime you curse the Steelers during the game you pay .25″  They are listed on my website under ”Everyday” items.

Sneak peak!

Hello!  It’s been an unusually cool summer here in Western PA.  It’s making me think of our fall craft shows!  I have been working on some new items for it and thought I’d share one of them.  It’s not posted for sale on my website yet, I just wanted to give everyone a sneek peak of what I am working on!  I found this pattern on a website http://threadbareprimitives.com  The designer is Susan Dean and she has adorable patterns!!  This little guy was exactly what I was looking for.  I think he will be a huge hit at the shows.

 I am working on several other new ideas and will be posting them soon!

Primitive sunflower baskets

I started making primitive sunflowers about a year ago.  I have followed a wonderful blog by Denise (NeeNee) Bailey.  http://thekrazykraftlady.blogspot.com If you have a chance to visit her site, it is worth your time!  One of her blogs offered directions on making primitive sunflowers.  I made them and decided to add them to my baskets last year for my craft show and they FLEW out of my booth!  I have been making them ever since so I will have plenty for my shows this year.   Here is a picture of one of my baskets I made using the flowers.  They are very easy to make and I stain them with coffee and vanilla, so they smell good too!  I will be offering some ”flower bouquets” at the shows also.    In my upcoming blogs I will be giving you a sneak peak of some of the new items I will have at my shows.   I have been busy making tons of crafts so we have plenty of inventory this year.
